Did you know that hydrogen peroxide is not just great at cleaning wounds? You can actually use it to clean your house too! Hydrogen peroxide is a disinfectant that acts very much like bleach but doesn’t harm the environment. Even hotels use it to clean and disinfect!
So what are some of the ways to use hydrogen peroxide around the house? One way is adding half a cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide to one gallon of hot water is great for scrubbing floors.
Or pour it in a spray bottle and use it as a multipurpose cleaner on tubs, stove tops, counters, bathroom surfaces. What’s nice is that it’s so handy, you don’t have to search in your cupboards for just the right cleaner, this is all set to go as is.
And you can pour hydrogen peroxide on your cutting boards after cutting up meat or fish to kill salmonella and other bacteria.
Spray hydrogen peroxide on windows and mirrors to loosen dirt and grime. Then simply wipe away with a lint free cloth.
You can also use it to wash fruits and vegetables when you get home from the store. Use one part hydrogen peroxide, and one part water, spray the produce and let stand for a minute or two. Then wash with clean cold water to remove germs and wax on the fruits and veggies. This also extends their shelf life at home.
